Grace Harris, Nadine de Klerk take RCB into WPL 2026 final
Chasing a modest score of 144, after the Warriorz scored 143/8 in the stipulated 20 overs, RCB raced to a sensational victory in just 13.1 overs with Grace Harris leading the show.
New Delhi: An all-round effort from Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) saw the franchise book the final berth in the Women's Premier League 2026 after beating UP Warriorz convincingly. In their last league game on Thursday in Vadodara, RCB produced a brilliant all-round show to dispatch the Warriorz by 8 wickets and book the final spot.
Chasing a modest score of 144, after the Warriorz scored 143/8 in the stipulated 20 overs, RCB raced to a sensational victory in just 13.1 overs with Grace Harris leading the show with the bat after Nadine de Klerk's brilliant bowling spell. Harris hammered the UP bowlers all across the stadium smashing 75 runs off just 37 balls which included 13 boundaries and 2 massive sixes.
After her dismissal, skipper Smriti Mandhana continued from where she had left scoring an unbeaten half-century to see the side home comfortably. Mandhana played a blistering knock of 54 runs off just 27 balls studded with 8 boundaries and 2 big sixes and Georgia Voll also contributed with 16 runs towards the end. Shikha Pandey and Asha Sobhana were the lone wicket-takers claiming one scalp each.
De Klerk bowls magical spell
Earlier in the first innings, De Klerk registered brilliant figures of 4/22 in her four-over spell to restrict the opponents to a below-par total. Apart from her lethal spell, Harris also contributed in the innings with two wickets while Lauren bell and Shreyanka Patil also picked up a wicket each.
For the Warriorz, Deepti Sharma top-scored with 55 runs off just 43 balls while skipper Meg Lanning contributed 41 off just 30 deliveries at the top. Rest of the batters in the team failed to score some runs which was the reason why the team fell short off a good score.
RCB also scripted few records en route the victory which gave them a final spot.
