New Delhi: New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell continued his excellent form against India, notching up his second consecutive ODI hundred in the series decider at the Holkar Stadium in Indore on Sunday, January 18. He scored 137 runs off 131 balls with the help of 15 boundaries and three maximums.
Mitchell was removed by Mohammed Siraj in the 45th over with a slower delivery as Kuldeep Yadav took a good catch. As Mitchell was walking off the field, Indian batter Virat Kohli, who was standing near the boundary ropes, playfully pushed him off the ground in a moment of pure banter.
With his fourth ODI hundred against the Men in Blue, Mitchell equalled Nathan Astle's record for the joint-most tons by a Kiwi batter in India. He also became the second New Zealand batter with the most ODI centuries against India, just one behind Nathan Astle, who scored five.

Mitchell and Glenn Phillips smacked stunning centuries as the visitors set a massive 338-run target for the Men in Blue in the third ODI. After being put into bat first, the Kiwis got off to a poor start and lost both openers in just two overs. Mitchell then forged a 53-run partnership for the third wicket with Will Young, who was later removed by Harshit Rana in the 13th over.
After their dismissal, skipper Michael Bracewell played a brilliant cameo in the end to help the visitors set a 338-run target. He scored 28 runs off 18 balls with the help of three maximums and a boundary. Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh took three wickets each, while Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav also picked one wicket each.

Chasing the target, the Men in Blue got off to a disappointing start as openers Rohit and Gill departed inside the first 10 overs. Rohit scored just 11 runs and was removed by Zakary Foulkes with a full delivery. Rohit shuffled across and failed keep the ball down, hitting it straight down at mid-on to Clarke.
