Smriti Mandhana returns to The Women's Hundred with Manchester Super Giants for 2026 after a brilliant performance in WPL 2026.
New Delhi: Team India vice-captain Smriti Mandhana has joined the Hundred franchise Manchester Super Giants for the 2026 season. The left-handed batter missed the last season, but will join a star-studded team along with Australian legend Meg Lanning and England left-arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone.
Mandhana, who won the OD World Cup last year, brings a lot of experience and quality to the squad, adding explosive firepower to the top order. She joined Manchester Super Giants as a direct signing, strengthening their team for the upcoming season of the Women's Hundred.
Mandhana has been one of the star performers in the tournament since its inception. She played for Southern Brave and became the first woman batter to smash 500 runs in the tournament's history through sensational performances across seasons.
In 2023, she smacked consecutive half-centuries, including an unbeaten 70 off 42 balls with the help of 11 boundaries. Mandhana was also Southern Brave's highest run-getter in the 2022 season, scoring 211 runs in eight matches.
Mandhana's impressive form in WPL 2026
Mandhana has been a crucial player for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women (RCB-W) in the WPL 2026, anchoring the top order and scoring crucial runs. In RCB’s dominating nine-wicket win against UP Warriorz, Mandhana scored an unbeaten 47 off 32 balls, playing an important role in a 137-run opening partnership and guiding the team to a clinical victory.
RCB have made a strong start to the 2026 season campaign, winning two out of two games, including victories against UP Warriorz and a hard-fought match against the Mumbai Indians, underlining their all-round performances. Last year, Mandhana played a key role in India's ODI World Cup win.
The Women’s Hundred 2026 season is scheduled to begin from July 21 to August 16, featuring elite women’s teams cricket across England and Wales.
