Earlier, Marco Jansen (93) missed out on his maiden Test century after Senuran Muthusamy notched up 109 runs as South Africa scored 489/10 in the first innings on day 2 of the second Test against India at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium.
Muthusamy stitched an 88-run partnership for the seventh wicket with Kyle Verreynne (45) and then added 97 runs with Jansen to consolidate for the Proteas, who had resumed the day’s play at 247/6.
While Muthusamy smashed his maiden Test hundred, Jansen missed his when he played one onto his wickets against Kuldeep Yadav. He picked up four wickets, while Jadeja, Bumrah and Siraj also took two wickets each.
