Chennai Super Kings win their maiden IPL title

MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings won their first IPL title on April 25, 2010, beating Mumbai Indians in the final. It was the first of their five titles, against an opponent who have also won five times to be the two most successful teams in the competition.

At the DY Patil Stadium, CSK won by 22 runs with Suresh Raina scoring 57 off 35 balls to be the man of the match. In chase of a 169-run target, Mumbai skipper Sachin Tendulkar scored 48 off 45 balls but Shadab Jakati (2/26) and Muttiah Muralitharan (1/17) put the brakes on their scoring.

With 618 runs, Tendulkar became the player of the series but couldn't lead his team to glory.
