New Zealand thrashed West Indies by 323 runs in the third and final Test at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on Monday to clinch the three-match series 2-0. Pacer Jacob Duffy starred with the ball for the hosts on the final day of the Test match as he ran through the West Indies line-up with a five-wicket haul to help the Kiwis bundle out the visitors for a paltry 138 runs in their 462-run chase in their second innings.

Resuming their second innings from 43/0 on Day 5, West Indies lost opener John Campbell early before suffering a batting collapse. Ajaz Patel removed Campbell on 16 before dismissing Kavem Hodge (0) and Shai Hope (3) in quick succession to wreak havoc on the visitors' top order. Duffy then ran through the middle order as West Indies were bowled out for 138 runs in 80.3 overs.

Duffy was the pick of the bowlers for the Kiwis in the West Indies' second innings as he recorded sublime figures of 5/42 from his 22.3 overs. He was well supported by Patel, who picked three wickets for 23 off his 32 overs. Barring opener Brandon King, who scored a fine 67, none of the West Indies batters managed to showcase resistance against the Kiwis on Day 5.

Earlier, centuries from openers Devon Conway and Tom Latham helped New Zealand declare their second innings on 306/2 to set up a huge target for the West Indies. Conway and Latham became the first opening pair in Test history to score centuries apiece in both innings of a Test match, having smashed a ton each in New Zealand's first innings of the 3rd Test in Mount Maunganui.
