When will Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma play their next match in Vijay Hazare Trophy?
After scoring centuries in their opening matches, fans are eager to know whether Kohli and Rohit would play again in the tournament.
New Delhi: Veteran batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma made a sensational return to domestic cricket on Wednesday by notching up centuries for their respective sides Delhi and Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26.
While Kohli represented Delhi after a long gap of 15 years, since last playing for the side in VHT 2009-10, Rohit made a return in the premier domestic competition after last playing for Mumbai in 2017-18 season.
Delhi played their opening group game against Andhra Pradesh in Bengaluru and while chasing a target of 299, Kohli played a brilliant knock of 131 runs off just 101 balls smashing 14 boundaries and 3 sixes. It was because of his blistering hundred that Rishabh Pant-led Delhi won the contest by four wickets, starting off their campaign on a high.
Elsewhere, Rohit also made a memorable return to the VHT and while representing Mumbai against Sikkim in Jaipur, the right-handed opener dazzled with a stunning show of 155 runs in just 94 balls. Rohit's lethal innings, which included 18 fours and 9 sixes, helped Mumbai chase down down a target of 237 runs winning the match by eight wickets.
When will Kohli, Rohit play next in VHT?
Having been named in the squad for two matches, Virat Kohli will likely feature for Delhi in their second game of Group D against Gujarat on December 26, Friday. The match would be played at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma will also play for Mumbai in the second Group C match against Uttarakhand at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on December 26, Friday. Both matches will begin at 9 AM IST. However, fans may be disappointed as there will be no live streaming available for either game.
Both the veteran batters returned to domestic cricket following the BCCI’s directive encouraging senior players to participate in domestic tournaments. Their performances showed their class and match fitness, even at this stage of their careers.
