New Delhi: Mohamed Salah hasn’t been named in Liverpool's 19-man squad for their Champions League match against Inter Milan on Tuesday following his outburst against the club.

Salah said he has been "thrown under the bus" by the club, believing that he has been made scapegoat for Liverpool's distarous start to the season.

The reigning English Premier League champions are ninth in the standings, with Salah claiming he had no relationship with manager Arne Slot.

The Egypt international said Saturday's match with Brighton could be his final game at Anfield. He was an unused substitute in their 3-3 draw against Leeds United.

"It seems like the club is throwing me under the bus, that’s how I feel,” he told reporters after their draw at Elland Road on Saturday.

"I think it’s very clear that someone wants me to get all the blame. The club made a lot of promises to me in the summer and so far I’m on the bench three games, so I can’t say that they’ve kept their promise.

"I said before I had a good relationship with the manager and all of a sudden we don’t have any relationship. I don’t know why. It seems to me, I would say, that someone doesn’t want me in the club.”

The forward trained with the squad on Monday morning. Liverpool believe a brief period away from action for the 33-year-old would be in the best interests of everyone involved.

The club's decision has been taken in consultation with and support of Slot, who has dropped Salah to the bench in their last three matches.

Salah has been an influential player for the Reds since he joined the club in 2017 but his form has dropped off this season, scoring only five goals in 18 appearances.
