New Delhi: Five members of UEFA Champions League winners Paris St Germain were included in the men's World XI while as many England players were named in the women's side of FIFPRO's teams of the year on Monday.
Barcelona's 18-year-old winger Lamine Yamal became the youngest player ever to be selected for the men's team, while England defender Lucy Bronze makes a record eighth appearance in the women's team, after More over 26,000 players voted in the global players' association awards.
Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who helped PSG win their maiden Champions League title before joining Manchester City in the summer transfer window, is among the players of the European champions included along with Achraf Hakimi, Nuno Mendes, Vitinha and Ousmane Dembele, the Ballon d'Or winner.
Keeper Hannah Hampton, Lucy Bronze, Leah Williamson, Chloe Kelly and Alessia Russo are in the women's team from the England side that defeated Spain on penalties in the final to defend their Euro title.
Kelly, Russo and Williamson who won the Champions League with Arsenal, while the retired Millie Bright, who hand up her boots from international football before the Euros, were also chosen.
Zambia's Barbra Banda was picked for the second time while Morocco's Ghizlane Chebbak got in for the first time, making it two players on the women's tem for Africa for the first time.
