New Delhi: Argentina football player Lionel Messi's visit to Kolkata's Salt Lake Stadium tuned chaotic after fans failed to catch a proper glimpse of the soccer star. While Messi was supposed to be at the stadium for a longer time, he just stayed for around 20 minutes leaving the fans angry and dissatisfied.
As per latest reports, Messi has left Kolkata as he will be travelling to Hyderabad next for an exhibition match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Hyderabad police have implemented extensive security measures for the upcoming match which will involve Messi after the chaos in Kolkata.
It is being learnt that Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy along with several state ministers and prominent personalities from across the country and abroad are expected to attend the event. To ensure safety, a three-tier security system has been deployed across the stadium and the adjoining areas with around 3000 personnel on duty.
As per news agency PTI, the stadium, which has seating capacity of 39000, will be monitored through 450 CCTV cameras along with drone surveillance. Special teams have also been formed to ensure women's safety with the footballer receiving Z-category security.
In addition, a dedicated green channel facility has been arranged to facilitated smooth entry for VIPs and fans have also been advised not to gather on roads without tickets and to use RTC buses ort metro to avoid traffic congestion around the stadium. As many as 34 parking zones have been established near the stadium and given clear instructions for crowd management.
So as to maintain proper security, laptops, cameras, helmets, bags, banners, water bottles, and outside food are strictly prohibited inside the premises. All tickets and entry procedures will be digital, requiring QR code scanning for stadium access. Entry will commence four hours prior to the match, with spectators encouraged to arrive by 4 PM.
