New Delhi: Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is on the verge of leaving the club after the poor results in the recent Premier League matches. Chelsea have only managed to win just one league match out of the last seven and are currently placed fifth with 30 points after 19 rounds.

According to The Guardian report, Maresca might not be Chelsea's in charge in the next Premier League fixture against Manchester City on January 4, following a breakdown in relations with the board.

The uncertainty around his role started when the club dropped 15 points from the winning position. He also made a cryptic comment about his 'worst 48 hours' at the club after the win against Everton.

Further tensions were created by Maresca when he didn't attend the press conference after Chelsea's match against Bournemouth. His assistant, Willy Caballero, spoke to the media, which left the club insiders surprised.

According to the same report, Maresca put himself in trouble following his remarks after the Everton game. He's been considered as a potential replacement for Manchester City's Pep Guardiola, if he leaves the club at the end of the season.

Chelsea's fixtures in January 2026

Chelsea have nine fixtures in January 2026, including five Premier League games against Manchester City, Fulham, Brentford, Crystal Palace and West Ham United.
