Hockey Asia Cup 2025 opens doors with free entry for supporters
India aims to break the jinx and lift the Asia Cup hockey title in Rajgir after eight years, with home crowd cheering for them.
New Delhi: Hockey India have decided on Tuesday to open the doors for fans at the upcoming Hero Men's Asia Cup, announcing free entry for all the matches of the tournament that begins in Rajgir on August 29.
Fans can register for their complimentary tickets through the official Hockey India app or via the ticketing partner, www.ticketgenie.in. Once the process gets completed, fans will receive a virtual ticket on their devices, ensuring a smooth entry into the venue without the hassle of standing in long queues. Hockey India, in a statement, said, "This system has been designed to provide a seamless and hassle-free experience, eliminating the need for physical redemption and ensuring smooth access to the venue."
The Asia Cup will see eight leading teams from the continent vying for the title- India, Japan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Korea, Bangladesh and Chinese Taipei. The competition doubles up with the event serving as a qualifier for the 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup, adding more weight and intensity to every match.
For the hosts, the campaign begins with a Pool A clash against China on the opening day, August 29. Two days later, they will face a strong Japanese side before wrapping their group stage against Kazakhstan on September 1. The top two teams from each pool will advance to the next phase, making the early fixtures crucial.
