The 8th edition of the world's most popular franchise cricket league in the world, The IPL 2015, proved to be a dream season for the Jamaican fast bowling all-rounder Andre Russell. In the 2015 auction, the Caribbean player was bought for 60L by the Riders, and in his debut season for them, he proved why his worth was much more than that.
In the 2015 edition, throughout the tournament, Andre Russell was consistent both with the bat and the ball. In the 13 games he played, he managed to score 326 runs in 13 games. His contribution was equally valuable with the ball, too. He scalped a total of 14 wickets in 13 games he played.
Every time he walked out to bat, he hammered the opposition bowling for fun. The 326 runs scored by him were achieved with a massive strike rate of 192.89 and an average of 36.22. He smashed a total of 35 fours and 19 sixes in the entire tournament with 3 fifty-plus scores and a highest score of 66.

MI beat CSK in the 2015 IPL final
Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 41 runs in the finals of the 2015 season in Eden Gardens, Kolkata. MI's captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl first in the finals.
Rohit's decision to bat first proved to be an excellent decision in the finals as MI's top order did not disappoint at all. Lendl Simmons provided a strong start for his 68 in just 45 deliveries. Rohit himself stepped up on the biggest stage. He scored a quick-fire 50 in just 26 deliveries. Kieron Pollard and Ambati Rayudu perfectly ended the innings with a score of 36 each. This amazing batting display helped MI to end their 20 overs at a huge score of 202/5.
Coming out to chase the total, CSK's batters were clearly under pressure, and they had no answer to MI's pace attack. Lasith Malinga and Mitchell McClenaghan took 2 and 3 wickets respectively. From CSK, only Dwayne Smith looked good. He managed to score 57 but was later trapped in Harbhajan Singh's off-spin. CSK's innings ended at 161/8, and MI won their 2nd IPL title comfortably.
MI's captain Rohit Sharma was awarded the Man of the Match award for his brilliant 26-ball 50, and despite KKR not qualifying for the knockout stage, Andre Russell was awarded the Most Valuable Player for his great performances consistently throughout the season.
