New Delhi: The year 2026 promises to be a blockbuster for sports fans across the world as several marquee events are lined up across different disciplines. From cricket, football, to athletics, the 2026 sports calendar will be packed with action and thrilling matches throughout the year.
Several global tournaments, multi-sport events and high-stakes matches are scheduled across the calendar. 2026 is going to be a landmark year in international sport. Popular sporting events like the FIFA World Cup, Commonwealth Games and the ICC T20 World Cup will take place this year.
The men's T20 World Cup will begin on February 7 in India and Sri Lanka, while the women's T20 World Cup will start on June 12 in England and Wales. The 2026 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to start on 12 June in the USA, Mexico, and Canada. All four tennis Grand Slams are taking place in 2026, and the hockey World Cup is scheduled to be played in the Netherlands and Belgium from August 15.
