Tennis star Venus Williams ties the knot with actor Andrea Preti, sister Serena Williams shares sweet message

American tennis legend Venus Williams married Italian actor and producer Andrea Preti in Florida during a five-day celebration over the weekend.

Venus Williams has tied the knot with her long-term boyfriend, Andrea Preti, the American tennis legend announced on social media. Williams married Preti over the weekend during a five-day celebration at the Palm Beach in Florida, USA. Popular magazine Vogue shared the first pictures of the couple's wedding on social media, before both Venus and Andrea announced their marriage.

A seven-time Grand Slam singles champion and a former world no.1, Williams is regarded as one of the best female tennis players of all time. The 45-year-old became the second-oldest woman to win a WTA tour game earlier this year. She achieved the feat in her now-husband Andrea's presence during the DC Open in July.

Following her victory, she had credited Andrea for his support. Born in Denmark on June 06, 1988, Andrea is an actor, model and producer. He spent most of his childhood in Denmark before shifting to Italy with his family, where he took up modelling as a profession after falling in love with fashion.

He later moved to New York to study acting at the Batson Academy and started acting in TV commercials. He also worked in several TV shows and later ventured into direction and production. He is best known for his work in series like One More Day, Un Professore, and Temptation.

"Mr. & Mrs. Preti. A dream come true," Venus wrote on Instagram while sharing pictures with Andrea from their wedding.

Tennis legend Serena Williams took to social media to share a heartfelt wish for her sister Venus after she tied the knot with Andrea. In a sweet message, Serena reflected on their journey from childhood to becoming global tennis sensations. She also wished Venus well for the new beginnings in her life.

"My sister’s keeper. Venus, where do I even begin? From backyard courts to the world stage, you’ve always led with grace, strength, and heart. Seeing you step into this next chapter so loved and radiant means everything to me. Forever proud to stand beside you," Serena wrote on X.

Williams made her comeback to tennis at the DC Open in Washington earlier this year. She returned to a competitive tournament after 16 months and is now eyeing her 33rd straight season next year. She is expected to be part of the WTA tour 2026, which will get underway in Auckland in January.
