Virat Kohli has been a central figure in the Indian Premier League (IPL), having been part of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) right from the inception of the league in 2008. Kohli joined RCB as a prodigious youngster in 2008 and quickly transformed into one of the best batters in the world. He also led RCB for nine seasons from 2013 to 2021 and has been one of the most consistent run-getters for them in the IPL.

Kohli's star power has played a key role in making RCB one of the most popular franchises in the league. He is arguably the biggest name in the current RCB squad and has been synonymous with the team's success both on and off the field. One of the greatest batters of all time, Kohli's legacy at RCB remains unmatched.

Kohli took over as RCB's captain in 2013 and led the franchise in 140 matches before stepping down as captain ahead of IPL 2022. Under his leadership, RCB won 66 matches while losing 70.
