New Delhi: In 2026, Amazon plans to grow Alexa+ across additional screens, vehicles and daily devices, which will mark a significant expansion of the AI-powered assistant. The latest upgrades announced at CES are expected to help the users stay connected at home, on the road or in their daily activities. As it gets more integrated and more of a natural conversation, Alexa+ is taking the form of a more proactive digital companion.
The first instance in which Alexa+ is going beyond hardware produced by Amazon. Other large companies like Samsung, BMW, Bosch and Oura are defining Alexa+ into their products. This development complements tens of thousands of devices and services that Alexa already supports, and voice-based assistance is now more comfortable in various settings.
Samsung is poised to be the first third-party producer to have Alexa built in its smart televisions. Beginning later this month, a few Samsung television models from 2021 through 2025 will receive early access to Alexa+. Users will have the opportunity to find shows, discover and control smart home devices, and play music with natural voice commands. Strauss phrases such as 'requesting what is new to watch' or 'regulating the temperature in the room' will do this directly via the TV.
The smart home is also being expanded further by Alexa+. In 2026, Bosch will initiate support of its coffee machines with Alexa+, beginning with the Bosch 800 Series fully automatic espresso machine. Customers can speak with Alexa in a natural way to make and tailor coffee beverages, and it will feel more like having a personal barista.
BMW is showing Alexa+ in the new electric SUV of the brand, the BMW iX3, in the automotive space. The car will have the next-generation BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, which runs on the Alexa Custom Assistant. This technology enables drivers and passengers to talk normally to operate the vehicle functions, find their routes, and enjoy entertainment services without having to memorise the commands.
Alexa Custom Assistant is an option that HERE Technologies and TomTom have used within their mapping systems. This will allow navigation by voice, such as planning a trip, adding stops, and finding EV charging stations. This advanced in-car Alexa experience is the first in its available form to be launched by BMW iX3 that can now be offered by other carmakers.
Another area Alexa+ is venturing into is daily and wellness support. With the help of early access integrations with Oura, Alexa+ is able to deliver sleep and recovery recaps, recommendations on how to improve wellness, and assistance for users to live healthier habits. During the evening, Alexa+ is able to send wind-down notifications, as well as to control home features such as lighting and temperature. Other integrations with Withings and Wyze, among other health-orientated integrations, are likely to be introduced in the near future.
