New Delhi: iPolish has presented a new type of beauty technology at CES 2026: digital press-on acrylic nails. The company calls them the first kind of digital nail polish in the world. The coloured nail change will take just a few seconds with a small charging wand and a smartphone app that allows users to change nail colours without the remover, polish, or visiting a salon.
The technology works by the transfer of a small electric charge into the nails that causes the material to change colour. During a live demonstration, the change was completed within several seconds per nail. iPolish claims that each nail can have up to 400 different colours and lets the users have the freedom to match their nails to any outfits, moods or occasions whenever they desire.
These nails are linked to a mobile application that allows users to choose a shade out of a digital palette. Once a colour is chosen, you are offered a small wand that resembles a portable charger, and you pop the tip of the nail on it. The wand passes a small charge into the nail, and the colour also changes nearly instantaneously.
The company claims that the technology behind it is the same as the technology used in e-readers, where small electrical pulses determine colour and contrast. The outcome is not a digital display; it looks like a regular gel manicure, and the nails retain their colour until the user revises them again.
The iPolish entry package will be priced at $95 and will contain the colour-changing wand, bonding glue, top coat and two sets of nails. Buyers have options to buy the different shapes and sizes, i.e., shorter ballerina nails or longer squoval nails. The electronics are fixed into the nails; hence, they cannot be filed or reshaped.
Should a nail break or be lost, then sets can be replaced individually, beginning at approximately $6.50. This saves it in the long run compared to visiting the salon constantly, particularly for individuals who love varying colours frequently.
iPolish is scheduled to start delivering the product in June 2026. There are already pre-orders, and the company is striving to bring the technology to the major beauty retailers later this year.
