DJI Mini 5 Pro leaks: Fly More Combo, RC2 controller, price and specs revealed

The DJI Mini 5 Pro has leaked ahead of its official launch, with retail box images and listings hinting at a Fly More Combo with RC2 controller, three 52-minute batteries, and a price of €1129 (₹98,000). Leaks also suggest LiDAR obstacle sensing and a 330° gimbal upgrade.

New Delhi: The DJI Mini 5 Pro, the company’s next compact drone, has not even been officially announced yet, but the leaks are getting harder to ignore. A retail box image circulating on social media and early listings on European websites have given enthusiasts their first proper look at what could be DJI’s biggest update in the sub-250 g drone category.

Adding to the buzz, drone leaker Mauro Tandoi dropped the first folding animation video of the aircraft, while others spotted a price tag on a European store that puts the Fly More Combo with the RC2 controller at 1,129 euros (around ₹98,000). That’s the same sticker price as the current Mini 4 Pro bundle.

The image of the Mini 5 Pro retail box shows it packaged with DJI’s RC2 controller, which comes with a built-in screen. The box label reads "Fly More Combo Plus (DJI RC 2),” suggesting buyers will get three batteries with up to 52 minutes of flight time each under ideal conditions. If accurate, that’s a serious endurance jump for DJI’s Mini series.

The RC2 controller also means no need to tether your phone. Pilots can skip the fiddly setup of plugging in cables, while the integrated display should offer much better visibility in bright sunlight and avoid the overheating issues some phones face when used for extended flying sessions.

What the DJI Mini 5 Pro leaks suggest about specs

Leaked spec sheets and early reports point to a feature-packed upgrade:

  • 1-inch image sensor with 4K recording at up to 120 fps
  • True vertical shooting with 225-degree gimbal rotation
  • 48 mm medium-telephoto shooting mode
  • Omnidirectional obstacle sensing with forward-facing LiDAR for night flying
  • ActiveTrack for cyclists, runners, and vehicles
  • Up to 36 minutes of quoted flight time per battery

Perhaps the most eye-catching claim is that the Mini 5 Pro could borrow LiDAR tech from DJI’s higher-end drones like the Air 3S and Mavic 4. That would make obstacle avoidance in low-light or indoor environments far more reliable. Sources also hint that the gimbal may rotate as far as 330 degrees, opening up new camera angles not possible on earlier Minis.

Why this leak matters

Retail packaging leaks usually surface late in DJI’s launch cycle, often just before official specifications and price confirmations. If this box is the real deal, DJI could be only weeks away from unveiling the Mini 5 Pro. The leaked European price suggests that DJI may try to keep pricing in line with the Mini 4 Pro despite the hardware upgrades.

For drone pilots, the promise of more flight time, advanced sensors, and a no-phone controller will be hard to ignore. For DJI, the Mini 5 Pro will have to go up against regulators’ stricter rules on drone flights while still keeping the sub-250 g weight that makes the Mini series attractive to hobbyists worldwide.
