Elon Musk has officially introduced Grokipedia, an AI-generated online encyclopedia designed to challenge Wikipedia. Powered by Musk’s Grok AI chatbot, Grokipedia claims to offer an "unbiased, truthful source of knowledge" on the internet, with its AI model fact-checking content automatically. Musk announced the launch of Grokipedia.com version 0.1 on X, stating that even this early version surpasses Wikipedia.

Grokipedia operates differently from its predecessor; it functions akin to a search engine, requiring no user login for topic searches. While Wikipedia relies on human editors and volunteers operating under a non-profit, Creative Commons license, Grokipedia is linked to Musk's for-profit ventures and utilises proprietary AI systems.

Early users have noted a cleaner interface but also observed potential ideological leanings within its entries, such as the one for Elon Musk. Questions persist regarding Grokipedias ability to maintain true impartiality and its long-term monetisation strategy.
