New Delhi: Facebook has a massive redesign being implemented by Meta, the primary goal of which is to make the network feel more simple and interactive. New features include the possibility of a user liking a photo by simply tapping twice on the photo on their feed, a popular feature on Instagram. The company indicates that the updates are included in the plan of the CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, to make Facebook even more culturally influential than it is currently.
The redesign is aimed at assisting users to eliminate the clutter. Multiphoto posts will now be displayed in a grid format, and most popular functionality on Stories and feed postings, including the ability to add music or label friends, is being relocated to more convenient places. According to Meta, these changes are only the first step in a bigger project of making Facebook more user-friendly, and more changes should be expected next year.
Facebook is becoming more visually and interactively laid out in its feed. Photos can be liked by simply tapping twice, and the search results will be presented in grid format, which is compatible with all forms of media. Meta is also trying a new experience of looking at fullscreen photos and videos without losing the feed.
Meta is allowing the users to have better control over what they see. A new option has been implemented whereby individuals can describe the reasons why some content is irrelevant to them. This is the extension of the tools, which were already launched on Instagram and Threads. Meta claims that it will keep on adding feedback options on the feed algorithm to users during the following months.
Other features of a redesign are a simplified commenting experience and a new menu design. Meta assures that such changes are to make the application less cluttered and easier to navigate.
