Slack CEO Denise Dresser joins OpenAI as new chief revenue officer

Denise Dresser is leaving her role as Slack CEO to join OpenAI as its new chief revenue officer. She will lead OpenAI's rapidly expanding enterprise division starting next week.

New Delhi: Slack CEO Denise Dresser is leaving the company to join OpenAI as a co-leader in a significant position. Ended her 14-year tenure at Salesforce, the parent of Slack. Dresser will join OpenAI as its chief revenue officer next week and will be in charge of the rapidly expanding enterprise branch. Reporting to her will be chief operating officer Brad Lightcap.

Her action is at a time when OpenAI is aggressively expanding to the enterprise AI market. According to OpenAI executives, Dresser will be valuable in guiding the company to implement AI for millions of workers because of his experience in scaling business software. According to Fidji Simo, the CEO of Applications of OpenAI, the leadership history of Dresser will enhance the mission of the company in ensuring that AI is dependable and reachable to businesses throughout the world.

The Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff announced that Dresser had left the company on Monday evening. Interim CEO will be Rob Seaman, who is the chief product officer of Slack, the sources who are knowledgeable about the change state. Slack is yet to make an official statement.

When Dresser worked as the CEO of Slack, she spearheaded the implementation of some of the new AI-driven functionalities, including the automatic meeting summary and collaboration with Salesforce AI agents. She even appeared at times on the record in the debate over government technology reforms, expressing her approval of X, to the policies that promoted more organised digital communication.

Slack, which was started in 2009 and acquired by Salesforce in 2021 at almost twenty-eight billion dollars, has undergone significant cultural and operating changes in the last few years. A lot of its original executives departed following the acquisition, and Slack has been integrated progressively deeper into the overall Salesforce structure. This is another important change as Dresser leaves and the company is redefining its product focus and its leadership.
