When Wandel returned, she was surprised to see her clothes folded and placed at a safe spot. She also found a note written by the postman. In the note, the man explained why he moved the laundry indoors. "This is 1 in a million. I was on my way home when the heavens opened, and I thought, ‘There go the sheets.’ When I got home, the line was empty. I had to check the cameras to see what happened. The postie had brought my wash in out of the rain,” said one.

Netizens were quick to comment on the post. They celebrated the man's kindness and her heart to go beyond his duty to help a stranger. One called him a "hero", another said he was a "gem of a person". Many claimed that the incident restored their faith in humanity.

One stated, "That's not service... That's just being thoughtful and kind." A second person opined, "He dragged clean sheets across the dirty floor. Now they have to be rewashed." A third individual commented, "Beautiful randomness of kindness. Very rare these days. Hope you rang his work to give him some praise. He at least deserved that. So many people are quick to ring and complain, though never ring to give credit unfortunately."

Another commented, "You should go to their temple, they feed you and the shoes you leave at the door of the temple, they clean it for you. When there is ever help needed Sikhs are always first to show up whatever religion you come from." One wrote, "That is a Sikh gentleman they are the bravest and most humble Indian you can meet …go any Gurudwara and you will have free food."
