Trump launched the board in a signing ceremony in Davos on Thursday. During the announcement, he claimed that "everybody” wants to be a part of his Board of Peace and added that he will continue to "work with many others, including United Nations”. Notably, Pakistan was among the countries that signed to be part of the Board of Peace.
The US President said, "What we’re doing is so important. This is something I really wanted to be here and do, and I could think of no better place.” After he signed the documents of the board, he held them out to the camera with a smile as other world leaders followed suit.
He claimed that many nations have supported his Board of Peace to bring stability in war-torn Gaza. Trump said, "If Hamas doesn’t do what they promised they will do, I think they probably will, but they were born with rifles in their hands. They have to give up their weapons, and if they don’t do that, it is going to be the end of them."

During his speech in Davos, Trump boasted how US strikes "obliterated” Iran’s nuclear capacity and said that Tehran will 'talk' in future. He also spoke on the US operations against ISIL in Syria, and claimed about dwindling threats to Europe, the US and the Middle East. He added, "Just one year ago, the world was actually on fire. A lot of people didn’t know it.”
What is Board of Peace?
The Board of Peace of Trump is an international organisation formed as a part of his multi-stage plan to bring stability in Gaza after the Israel-Hamas ends completely. Trump’s ceasefire plan for the conflict has been implemented already and the second phase of the plan has been initiated by the US government.
According to the White House, the Board would provide strategic oversight, coordinate international resources, and help manage governance, reconstruction and reintegration efforts following a ceasefire. It said in a statement that the Board of Peace will play an essential role in fulfilling all 20 points of the President’s plan, providing strategic oversight, mobilizing international resources, and ensuring accountability as Gaza transitions from conflict to peace and development.
