The statement released to the media, said, "There is no truth to reports about his transfer from Adiala jail. He is fully healthy and receiving complete medical attention."

The Rawalpindi prison official dismissed rumours regarding Imran Khan's health as baseless. He said that the jail authorities were ensuring that he was being taken care of properly.

After being ousted from power in April 2022, Khan has been convicted in multiple corruption and terrorism cases. He has been in jail since August 2023.

Apart from the jail authorities, Imran Khan's well being was also confirmed by Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif. He said that Khan was receiving all kinds of comfort while in jail. A report in Gulf News quoted Asif as saying, "Check the menu of the food that comes for him — it is not available even in a five-star hotel. There are exercise machines for him as well. "

He further claimed that the PTI founder had been provided with a double bed and a "velvet mattress" in jail.

The rumours started after KHan's 3 sisters claimed that they had "been brutally assaulted" by the police last week, when they sought to meet their brother last week. The PTI members alleged the attack on - Noreen Niazi, Aleema Khan and Dr Uzma Khan - happened right outside the Adiala Jail, where they were protesting, after being denied a meeting with Khan.

The death rumours actually started after several social media handles originating in Pakistan and neighbouring Afghanistan claimed that Imran Khan had been mysteriously killed inside Adiala Jail and other prisoners had reportedly not seen him in days.

However, now the statement from the jail authorities, seems to have clarified that Khan is completely healthy and still lodged in the jail.
