New Delhi: An Indian man from Ireland took to Reddit to share how he was racially attacked by a bunch of young teenagers while waiting at a bus stand. Netizens were quick to comment on the incident. They were eager to know if legal action was taken against the teenagers.
In the post, the Redditor identified himself as a 22-year-old Indian. Further, he explained how the group of teenagers in a car approached him when he was waiting at a bus stand. Initially, the man thought the teenagers wanted him to help them with directions. Soon, he realized they were trying to trigger him. "I went up to the car, and they called me "hey sweet cheeks.” I played along, matched their energy, and said thanks, really appreciated it," said the man on Reddit.

He told Redditors that the teenagers approached him a second time. "Then they pulled up a second time in front of me and called me handsome, followed by a bunch of crap. I, of course, matched their energy and gave it back," said the young man. The Redditor told netizens that the teenagers were adamant and tried to trigger him for a third time.
"Finally, for the third time, they came up from the other side and shouted more racist slurs. They drove off, and when I was boarding the bus, those lads were still there, probably waiting for their next victim who’d give them the reaction they wanted, which I believe I didn’t," said the Redditor.
The frustrated man then stated, "I try to be stoic about things and not let them get to me, but I didn’t decide to be born brown, and getting hate for that is truly disheartening and alienating."
Netizens tried to console him. They asked him if he had noted down the registration number of the car. However, some white people claimed that the attack did not have a racist angle to it. Meanwhile, others called out the repeated attacks on Indians. One Irish woman said she was ashamed of the recent events in the country.
