Key accused in Osman Hadi murder case denies role, claims to be in Dubai

Dubai: One of the main accused in Osman Hadi case in Bangladesh, Faisal Karim Masud, has denied any role in the murder of students leader. He a video message shared on social media, Masud claimed he was in Dubai and that the murder was carried out by Jamaat-Shibir.
What Masud claims to be in video
In his video, Masud claimed that his connections with Hadi was only on business purposes. He added that while donations were given to Hadi, but those were only for business contracts and had nothing to do with any sort of crime.
"I did not kill Hadi. Me and my family are being implicated. I have come to Dubai to save myself from the witch hunt. Hadi is a product of Jamat. Jamatis may have been behind it. Yes, I met Hadi for professional reasons as I own an IT firm. I made political donations to him. He promised to get me government contracts," he was quoted as saying in the video.
Osman Hadi, 32, was shot at during an election campaign in Dhaka on December 12. After initial treatmentin Dhaka, he was airlifted to Singapore for better treatment, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
How Bangladesh Police blamed India
Recently, Bangladesh Police had claimed that after December 12 murder, both Masud and another suspect Alamgir, fled to India. other suspect, Alamgir Sheikh, had fled to India after the December 12 attack. According to senior Dhaka Metropolitan Police officer SN Nazrul Islam had claimed that both accused crossed the Haluaghat border to India and were allegedly received by two Indians.
BSF rejected Bangladesh claims
Rejecting his claims, the Border Security Force said, "There is no evidence to suggest that any individual crossed the international border from the Haluaghat sector into Meghalaya. The BSF has neither detected nor received any report of such an incident."
As per CNN-News18, Fazal has a five-year multiple-entry UAE visa, as a tourist visa. Records suggest that visa was issued to him in December 2022. The development questions his movement and possible evasion of law.
