He went missing in Ufa on October 19 this year. According to sources, the man left his hostel at 11 am, saying that he was going to buy milk. He however did not return to his room, they added.

Alwar Saras Dairy chairman Nitin Sangwan was quoted by the news channel as saying that the boy's body was recovered from a dam adjacent to the White River. There was no immediate statement released by the Indian Embassy regarding the death or recovery of the body. However they have informed Chaudhary's family about the death, said sources.

In a statement, former Union Minister Jitendra Singh Alwar said that Chaudhary's clothes, mobile phone and shoes were found near the river bank 19 days ago. He suspected that an "untoward incident occurred with the boy under suspicious circumstances."

In a post on 'X', Alwar said, "Ajit, from Kaphanwada village, had been sent to Russia by his family with great hopes and by pooling their hard-earned money to pursue medical studies. Today's news of Ajit's body being found in the river is utterly shocking. This is an extremely sorrowful moment for the Alwar family; in suspicious circumstances, we have lost a promising young boy."

He said that the family of the man had been extremely distraught following his disappearance. They had been praying for his safe return, but unfortunately the boy was found dead under suspicious circumstances.

The Congress leader urged the External Affairs Minister to help bring the body of the man back to India at the earliest. He also demanded that the death be investigated as it had occurred under suspicious circumstances.

The All India Medical Students' Association (HQs) Foreign Medical Students Wing - the foreign wing of the All India Medical Students' Association - has also approached Jaishankar over the matter. While his friends have confirmed the identity of the man, the University at which he was enrolled has so far not issued any statement in the matter.
