Iran stopped crackdown on protests?

The US President on Wednesday said that he has been told that killings in the Iranian government's crackdown on the protests were subsiding and that he believes there is currently no plan for large-scale executions. He, however, did not rule out potential US military action and said he was adopting a wait-and-see posture toward the crisis.

His remarks came a day after he told CBS News that the US would act if Iran began hanging protesters.
