Time for being soft on illegal immigrants is over: Trump after Indian mans beheading in Texas
US President Donald Trump condemned the beheading of Indian national Chandra Nagamallaiah in Dallas by a Cuban migrant, calling it a failure of Joe Biden's policies, and vowed that the time for being soft on illegal immigrant criminals is over.
New Delhi: Reacting to the gruesome killing of Chandra Nagamallaiah, an Indian national who was beheaded by a Cuban migrant in Dallas last week, US President Donald Trump on Monday said that the time for "being soft on illegal immigrant criminals is over under my watch".
"I am aware of the terrible reports regarding the murder of Chandra Nagamallaiah, a well-respected person in Dallas, Texas, who was brutally beheaded in front of his wife and son by an illegal alien from Cuba who should have never been in our country," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Nagamallaiah, 50, a native of Karnataka, managed the Downtown Suites motel on Samuell Boulevard, east of Downtown Dallas. He was attacked with a machete by 37-year-old Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, a Cuban immigrant with a violent criminal history who had recently been released from custody.
Trump accused his predecessor Joe Biden of failing to keep dangerous offenders out of the country. "This individual was previously arrested for terrible crimes, including child sex abuse, grand theft auto and false imprisonment, but was released back into our homeland under incompetent Joe Biden because Cuba did not want such an evil person in their country," he alleged.
'Accused will be charged with murder in the first degree'
"Rest assured, the time for being soft on these illegal immigrant criminals is over under my watch! Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, Attorney General Pam Bondi, Border Czar Tom Homan, and many others in my administration are doing an incredible job in making America safe again," Trump added.
He further said the accused, now in custody, will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. "He will be charged with murder in the first degree," Trump said.
