New Delhi: An Indian woman posted a video of her talking about her diet preferences to a local in South Korea. Her confessions stunned the local as well as netizens. The woman, identified as Khushi Yadav, stated that she grew up eating vegetarian food and eggs. As a result, her student life in South Korea was challenging.
Speaking in Korean, Yadav explained how she managed to survive on a diet of vegetables in South Korea, despite the limited availability of elaborate vegetarian options. "I'm dying because I want to eat bhindi,” said the woman. She also stated that she did not visit cafes because she was not a coffee lover. However, the woman claimed that she liked having some varieties of Korean bread which weren't very sweet.

At one point, the local person stated, "There’s nothing for you to eat.” The video garnered several reactions from netizens, too. Many were concerned for her. They wondered how she was managing and asked a variety of questions. One asked, "Girl, how do u survive then? Like, what is even available there? What do you eat as a vegetarian?" Another individual asked, "Is it difficult to socialise for someone who comes as a vegetarian to Korea? Since eating out in BBQ restaurants is a big part of their culture…does that make vegetarians feel left out when wanting to hang out with friends or colleagues?"
Some claimed that there were accessible vegetarian and vegan options available.
A third person commented, "As a city, Seoul, for instance, has a number of not only vegetarian options, but also vegan options. Maybe you would like to try the Saravana Bhavan there." Many netizens were eager to know how she was proficient in Korean. They asked her how long it took to learn. "Your Korean is so good," wrote one.
