5 reasons to buy Tata Altroz after the latest BNCAP rating
Tata Altroz recently earned a five-star rating in the Bharat NCAP rating, making it the only one to do so in its segment. Here's a look a t five reasons why the safety and other features aid to make it a good car to buy.
New Delhi: Ever since the 2025 Tata Altroz took home the five stars in the Bharat NCAP, it has officially become the safest car in the premium hatchback segment. It is at present the only hatchback with petrol, diesel and CNG trims and comes with a price reduction that post GST goes as high as Rs 1.10 lakh.
That means that the Altroz is one of the best that there is to offer in the premium hatchback segment. A while back, I myself had driven the 2025 Altroz, and the diesel variant was quite good to drive. I emerged admitting that despite all the foibles, there is little competition in its face, though there are amazing options in the electrifying Hyundai i20 and the Maruti Suzuki Baleno. Here are some plus points in the 2025 Tata Altroz facelift.
5) Handling
Tata Altroz took every clap from me for the amazing handling and steering response. The weight of the steering feels good and can tackle the bends and sharp turns with quite ease. It doesn’t roll over much and doesn’t make you feel out of control, whilst giving some sharp inputs. Put that with the knowledge of a five-star safety rating, and hey presto, you are at ease in mind in going for long drives and city rushes.
3) Safety features
The five-star Bharat NCAP safety rating is complemented by six-standard airbags across the range, Anti-locking braking system with Electronic Distribution and Electronic Stability Program and warning signals for close-range objects. Further, the 360-degree camera offers good visibility.
2) Infotainment system
In its segment, it has quite a good infotainment system, and the screen is quite responsive. The touchscreens didn’t lag, and the viewpoints from the screen for the 360-degree camera are quite clear and help you navigate around well. While it could have done better with more proper buttons, the system itself isn’t bad.
4) Alert brakes
Tata have given the Altroz very good brakes, despite coming with just front disc brakes. Still, it doesn’t make you unnerved to tackle traffic or push the throttle just a little more.
Tata Altroz braking is very good and quite sharp, even though it only has front disc brakes. They are direct, and the pedal has good bite, making it good to drive in slippery conditions.
Great sitting position
If one thing Tata knows how to do well is giving a car a good seating position to make the cabin airy and make every corner visible. Tata’s biggest focus point for this facelift was luxury and the legroom at the back and front are good, meaning it can accommodate five people easily.
