New Delhi: Racing Promotions Pvt. Ltd. (RPPL) and Navi Mumbai have signed an MoU for building a new street circuit in Navi Mumbai. This is going to host the final round of the 2025 Indian Racing Festival in December, which includes the F4 Indian Championship and the Indian Racing League.
If things move forward, it will be the second street circuit in this year’s Indian Racing Festival calendar. At the start of this month, it was announced that the Goa Street Circuit will be hosting the Round 4 from November 1st to 2nd. The series has previously raced on street circuits in Hyderabad and Chennai.
The Goa race will be in the daytime, and the organisers will be at the Navi Mumbai Street Circuit. It features a 3.753 km long track which goes anti-clockwise and has a total of 14 turns. The circuit will start at Palm Beach Road and weaves through the stretches beside the Nerul Lake.
Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said that they were filled with pride to bring the Indian Racing Festival to Navi Mumbai. He further noted that it was a historic milestone in Maharashtra’s motorsport history and would be contributing to more tourism and jobs with such attractive events.
The Indian Racing League has six teams based in cities competing this year, and the owners include cricketing icon Sourav Ganguly and Bollywood actor John Abraham. F4 is one of the early steps to single-seater racing with all-important FIA Super Lcence points up for taking and comparatively lower entry fees as well, bringing a host of international racers.
