e-Challan in Gujarat: How to Check and Pay Online
The e-Challan is an environmentally friendly and less time-consuming process through which the vehicle owners can pay their fines in a prompt manner. Here's how e-Challan works in Gujarat.
The e-challan system in Gujarat has helped the traffic fines and violations go digital in across the state and is managed by the Gujarat Traffic Police, replacing the physical challans. It has made the process of fine payment and notifications much easier and transparent in the state.
The goal of this project is to digitise traffic enforcement so that citizens may handle fines more quickly and easily. Users can also monitor previous infractions, check the status of their fines, and easily make payments thanks to the system's integration with online platforms like Parivahan and the Gujarat Police e-challan portal. This method of addressing traffic infractions encourages accountability, openness, and convenience. There are two ways to check the status of e-challan in Gujarat.
Steps to check the status of the e-challan
- Citizens can check e-challan status through the Gujarat Police website.
- After clicking on the "Check Challan Status”, the user needs to enter vehicle registration or challan number.
- The e-challan details, along with pending and resolved fines ,will be displayed.
- Using UPI, debit/credit cards or net bankin,g the user can pay their fines directly on the portal itself.
- Users can also do the same through the Parivahan e-challan.
- After selecting "Challan Status Check," enter the challan number or car registration.
- Details about your e-challan, including any outstanding infractions, will be displayed to you.
People no longer need to visit the police station in person to pay fines, thanks to websites like Parivahan and the Gujarat Police e-challan portal. Because of this flexibility, users may easily handle payments and adhere to driving laws. The biggest benefit from e-challan has been the real-time tracking of the status update of their challan payment.
Further, the new process has increased the transparency of manual errors, making the whole process much more reliable. It has been beneficial for both the government and users alike, with the system making the payment of the penalties more prompt. The e-challan has been environmentally friendly with the reduction of the use of paper. One of the biggest benefits has been that adherence to traffic rules has increased due to the stringent laws and how it has been enforced.
How does e-challan work?
The violation for the e-challan is detected both manually, with officers holding the device, as well as automatically through CCTV. The tools take down the important details like the vehicle registration, the type of violation, etc, following which the e-challan is generated automatically, linked with the violator’s registration and mobile number.
The violator receives the notification about the violation through an SMS, ensuring that steps are taken for quick resolution. The fines are aimed at reducing the number of accidents through diligent following of the laws.
