Genesis GV60 Magma is a 641 bhp making monster with Drift mode
Genesis have unveiled the GV60 Magma, which will make 641 bhp with boost and can go from 0-200 kph in 10.9 seconds. Genesis have given the EV a Virtual Gear Shifter System and even a drift mode.
New Delhi: Genesis was revealed in 2024 as a performance segment of Hyundai’s luxury brand. Since then, there have been concept cars and even a World Endurance Championship-participating team, but no road cars were shown until now. Genesis GV60 Magma is the band’s most powerful car the brand has made.
The GV60 comes with dual-motor and, in terms of performance, makes 641 bhp, coming with a Virtual Gear Shifter System and even a drift mode. All of this makes it identical to the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N. Much like the 5 N, peak power in the GV60 comes through boost mode, which, when activated, can make the car go from standstill to 200 kph in just 10.9 seconds.
Genesis GV60 Magma numbers
While there are no official figures on 0-100 kph, it is clear it will do it in under four seconds. Without the boost mode, it still makes 601 bhp. The power is backed by some serious chassis changes as well. Adaptive dampers are standard fit and have been reconfigured with geometry compared with the usual GV60 line-up. Both axles have been fitted with new bearings for reduced vibrations.
Larger front monoblock brake callipers are now fitted as well this to give the best grip to the 21-inch wheels.
Genesis also gets "Active Noise Control-Road” which is to cancel out some of the additional road noise brought by the wider tyres, along with insulated glass. It will also have sound that replicates engine high-revving noise. It also gets rear wings at the back, and while whether this comes to India is unknown, we do know Genesis is coming to India in 2026, and this could be the perfect machine to start their Indian leg.
