New Delhi: The fifth-generation of Honday City, after its launch in 2020, had gotten a facelift in 2023, and as it goes into the sixth year of its existence, the Japanese car manufacturer is looking to give it a second update in the second half of 2026. This will act like a makeshift upgrade before the sixth generation arrives in 2028.

This makes for Honda to keep the mid-size saloon quite updated alongside rivals like the Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus and Skoda Slavia, which also gets a facelift next year.

While there have been no test cars spotted yet, it is being reported that most of the changes will be on the outside for the 2026 City facelift. Honda could make revisions to the grille, bumpers, headlights, tail-lights, wheels and bring the 2026 City facelift in line with global models like the Civic.

Honda City 2026 changes to be mostly on the outside

On the inside, the 2026 Honda City facelift is likely to come with mild changes like new trim pieces and upholstery. Otherwise, in terms of features and equipment, it is going to remain unchanged. There is a chance that the 360-degree camera could be added, like in the Elevate.

The 2026 City facelift will also remain mechanically the same and will be coming with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes 121 bhp and 145 Nm of torque paired with a 6-speed manual or CVT automatic. The City: eHEV hybrid will also come along with petrol trims, retaining the present model’s 126 bhp paired with a 1.5-litre engine and CVT gearbox configuration.
