New Delhi: Tata Motors celebrated India’s ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 win, with the champion team being felicitated in a special ceremony. The victorious squad posed with N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Tata Sons and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. (TMPVL), and Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director & CEO, TMPVL, alongside the newly launched Tata Sierra.
The company has had a long association with Indian sport and women’s empowerment, and a month back had announced that each member of the World Cup-winning team would get a Tata Sierra, right after the win. The Indian team picked up the World Cup after defeating South Africa in the final.
Tata Sierra is coming as an iconic car from the brand’s fleet, with the original car being produced between 1991 and 2003. The recently launched Sierra is a much more compact car, coming as a subcompact SUV. It is loaded with features and gets three screens, panoramic glass roof, LED lighting signature and the lot.
We recently drove the new Sierra and were impressed by its handling, the build quality, the 1.5-litre Hyperion engine and the size of the car is perfect to be called an SUV and yet nimble to fit in the heavy traffic of the city. The turbo petrol engine is in-house built and is being introduced with the Sierra.
The Sierra will be competing with the likes of Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta, and with the amount of features loaded, it will be giving strong competition.
