KTM 160 Duke launched, priced at Rs 1.85 lakh
KTM have launched the 160 Duke priced at Rs 1.85 lakh, making it the entry point to the brand's portfolio. With an engine producing 19 bhp and a torque of 15.5 Nm, it is one of the strongest engines at its range.
New Delhi: KTM have confirmed the KTM 160 to be launched soon, as the entry point in their portfolio, having previously teased the bike. Previously, the 125 Duke and RC 125 had been struggling with their sales and were discontinued back in April of this year, with media reports suggesting the arrival of a 160 cc bike.
Last week, KTM released the first teaser of what looked like the 160 Duke, coming with a reworked engine from the 200 Duke and a silhouette that resembled the bike, giving hints that it could be based on this platform. In the social media teaser, KTM have confirmed the 160 Duke, though there is still no news on the RC 160.
KTM 160 Duke powertrain and pricing
KTM 160 Duke will have a new engine coming from the 200 Duke’s motor, with an output of 19 bhp and a torque of 15.5 Nm. This will be a big step up from the previous iteration of the 125 cc KTM engine that produced just 14.5 bhp. This means it will be giving Yamaha’s 155 cc model that makes 18.4 bhp a run for its money, though remaining below the 200 cc KTM’s 25 cc. It is priced at Rs 1.85 lakh
The upcoming KTM 160 models are expected before the festive season. Recently, KTM AG resumed their production in full steam at their Mattighofen plant in Austria after Bajaj pumped money to rescue them. Initially, the focus will be on KTM’s 2026 off-roading portfolio, which includes EXC, SX and XC models and LC4 bikes like the 690 Enduro R.
KTM AG had gotten itself into financial troubles in 2024 with self-administration due to increasing debt and operational costs. Bajaj in 2025 announced their intention to take over KTM and even managed to secure them € 566 million through their European subsidiary.
In India, KTM has the second-largest market, and models like the Duke are manufactured at Bajaj’s Chakan plant. There remains little knowledge on whether Austrian-made models will arrive in the country.
