There has been a rekindling of interest in terms of performance cars in India, and that does mean 2026 will see the arrival of many popular nameplates in India. Here are some of the performance cars we are expecting in the coming year.

New Delhi: The performance segment has been booming across the world, and the Indian market has been favourable as well. It has enjoyed a revival in fact, despite the stricter emission laws, and the coming year is going to see some sports cars, which include coupes, convertibles and sporty SUVs as well.

We have cars from Italy, Germany, Britain, and even from Japan. In terms of powertrain, it will range from V12s to the 4-cylinder hybrid. With an action-packed 2025, 2026 is promising as well. There are clearly loads to look forward to, and here are the top five that hold our interest.

Aston Martin DB 12 S, Vantage S and DBX

Aston Martin are expected to bring the ‘S’ criteria of their performance cars with the DB12 grand tourer leading the charge. It comes with a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 receives a significant boost and performance goes as far as 700hp. This would make for  0-100 kph in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 325 kph. It also gets carbon fibre brakes that make it lighter by 27 kgs.

Even the Vantage is coming in the same format, with the same twin-turbo V8 that now makes 680hp and a 800Nm of torque. This betters performance marginally, with the 0–100kph run dropping to 3.4 seconds, while maximum speed stays the same at 325kph. The brand’s most powerful SUV, the DBX S, comes with a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that churns out 727hp and 900Nm, with turbocharger technology coming from the Valhalla supercar. It does 0-100 kph in just 3.3 seconds and gets a top speed of 310 kph.

Ferrari 849 Testarossa

Ferrari could be bringing the 849 Testarossa to replace the SF90 Stradale in India. It retains the SF90’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 paired with three electric motors and is paired with an 8-speed DCT gearbox. However, it is makes 50 bhp more, producing a total of 1050 bhp and is the most powerful series-production Ferrari yet.  The Testarossa is claimed to be doing 0-100 kph in 2.3 seconds and has a top speed of 330 kph. 

Ferrari Amalfi

The Amalfi will likely launch to replace the Ferrari Roma, and it too carries the Roma’s powertrain configuration, coming with a 3.9-litre twin-turbo mated with an 8-speed DCT automatic. Power though increases by 20 bhp, and the Amalfi makes a total of 640 bhp with torque of 760 Nm. The Amalfi does 0-100 kph in 3.3 seconds, making it a little quicker than the Roma and has a top speed of 320 kph.

Lamborghini Revuelto

Lamborghini could be bringing the Revuelto Roadster to India, and it is essentially the Revuelto that is convertible. The Roadster version of the standard car will come with a V12 hybrid engine that makes 1,015 bhp and is paired with an eight-speed DCT automatic gearbox. 

Honda Prelude

The Honda Prelude has gotten a new life and will be coming to India as a CBU. It will get a 2.0-litre petrol hybrid engine that makes 200 bhp and 315 Nm of torque, paired with an e-CVT gearbox. It will be using the S+ Shift system from Honda that simulates gearshifts for a better driving experience. The model also takes chassis components from the Civic Type R. However, this is more of a grand tourer from the brand.

Lamborghini Urus SE Sport

Lamborghini could be introducing a new version of the Urus SUV, possibly calling it the Urus SE Sport and Urus Performante. Coming with more horsepower from the V8 hybrid engine, a more firma and lower sports suspension, configured to replace air springs, aggressive aerodynamic elements and sportier interior options and is likely to be a more hardcore-focused iteration of the Urus SE.

Porsche 911 GT3

The 992.2-gen Porsche’s 911 GT3 could likely be arriving on Indian roads, with Porsche’s track-focused 911 having a 510 bhp, and the 4.0-litre engine is going to be a 6-cylinder. Power is sent to the back wheels through either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed PDK gearbox. The GT3 also comes with a Clubsport pack and gets roll cage and even lighter sports seats. For the first time in the GT3, which skips the rear wing, can be had with back seats as well.
