Ram is planning on bringing two new SRT products very soon
Ram is working on bringing two new SRT products in the coming three months as Stellantis go full throttle in resurrecting the internal combustion ngine and change their course.
New Delhi: At the start of this year, Stellantis made a big change to their operations in North America. Tim Kunisikis, who came back this year to take the top palace at Ram, became the head of the American brands and announced the SRT division coming back. According to the car manufacturer’s earnings presentation, the revival might be closer than we think it is.
In Stellantis’ Q3 shipments and revenue report, it said that Ram will be bringing two SRT products in the coming three months. Stellantis CEO noted that Ram will be bringing even more of their SRT performance products in the months to follow, with each more "utterly distinct value propositions”.
This will be part of a bigger product onslaught that will start with the 2026 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat, which is going on sale later this year. Filosa noted that it will be the first of many SRT products that have been lined up for the coming years. In fact, the presentation did mention that there are quite a few SRT products to be launched by 2030.
How is Stellantis undoing their mistakes from the past?
Stellantis are shifting their focus back to combustion engine production as interest in EVs hasn’t been top-notch across the world. The Stellantis conglomerate introduced the Hurricane 4 Turbo at the start of this week in the 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee, coming with a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that makes 324 bhp.
A while back, Ram even announced the 5.7-litre Hemi V8 would be coming back as an alternate for the 2026 1500. Kuniskis noted that the brand made a mistake, and now the automaker is expecting the engine to make up for 25 per cent of the sales. If two SRTs are coming, V8s will make a big mark.
Back in April, Kuniskis had said that the brand would hold 25 production announcements by the end of 2026, and the return of the Hemi was the state of this. There have been hints that the Ram will bring back the TRX sometime soon, which had the supercharged 6.2-litre Hellcat V8.
It doesn’t appear that Stellantis are designing a new engine but rather updating their lineup to work with the automaker’s upcoming STLA architecture. It has been the task Kuniskis gave former SRT chief engineer Daryl Smith in the previous year in order to bring the Hemi back to the Ram. What is clear, Stellantis have learnt from their mistakes and the stance is definitely shifting.
