New Delhi: Renault India has kicked off the festive season in Kerala with a big delivery drive. The company handed over more than 300 cars to customers during the state’s Onam celebrations, a time when car sales traditionally see a sharp spike.

What stood out this season was the response to Renault’s newly launched Triber. The compact family car clocked over 100 deliveries in just ten days, making it the star of Renault’s Onam lineup.

Triber takes center stage

Out of the 300 cars delivered across Kerala, more than 180 were the new Triber. Launched in July 2025 at ₹6.29 lakh (ex-showroom), the car has been drawing attention for its flexible seating layout that can switch between 5, 6, and 7 seats. It also offers one of the largest boots in the segment at 625 litres.

Renault’s Kerala dealer network, spread across 24 outlets, played a big role in pushing deliveries on auspicious days. From what I’ve seen in the state, this isn’t just about numbers. Families here often plan new car purchases around Onam, and the Triber seems to have landed at just the right time.

Features that clicked with buyers

The latest Triber comes with a sharper design, LED headlamps, and a refreshed grille. But what drew most attention during customer handovers were its safety updates. The car now packs 21 standard safety features, including six airbags, ESP, and tyre pressure monitoring. Renault has also introduced a front parking sensor, which is new for this segment.

Variants range from the entry-level "Authentic” to the fully loaded "Emotion”. Buyers in Kerala leaned towards the mid and top trims, showing a clear demand for feature-rich compact family cars.

Festive season importance for carmakers

Onam has always been a big season for automakers in Kerala. Companies often report a double-digit jump in deliveries compared to other months. Renault’s 300-plus deliveries this year underline how the festive calendar continues to be a make-or-break period for brands in India.

For Renault, this marks an early win under its new "renault. rethink.” strategy. The company will be hoping to carry this momentum into the Diwali season, which is usually the next big test for passenger car sales.
