Skoda introduces limited edition Kylaq, Kushaq and Slavia

New Delhi: Skoda are celebrating 25 years in India with a Limited Edition of the Kylaq, the Czech brand’s best-selling model. Only 500 units of the Skoda Kylaq Limited Edition will be made, with a starting price being at Rs 11.25 lakh, ex-showroom. Mechanically, it will remain the same, but the new edition gets a complementary accessory kit. 

Only the top of the range trim Kylaq Prestige and Signature can be availed in the Limited Edition. Apart from the variant-wise equipment on offer, the new edition gets features like the 360-degree camera, pubble lamps, and ‘25 SKODA’ badging on the B pillar, with extras not adding any cost. 

It will still have the same 115 bhp, 178 Nm 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine. This kit is only available in the manual kit, with the standard model coming with a torque converter automatic transmission. 

Skoda have also launched special editions of Kushaq and Slavia to mark the occasion. The Kushaq Anniversary Edition is priced at Rs 16.39 lakh, while the Slavia Anniversary Edition is priced at Rs 15.63 lakh ex-showroom. Quite like the Kylaq, these two cars have unique features and exterior finishes, but unlike the Monte Carlo trim, they don’t cost extra.

The Kushaq Anniversary Edition is based on the Monte Carlo variant, coming with two paint finishes, Deep Black and Tornado Red. The Deep Black gets contrasting accents in red, and the latter is finished in red. The exterior contrasts go in the fog lamp, garnish boot garnish and lower door garnish as well. It gets the 25th anniversary badging along with a 360-degree camera, puddle lamps and underbody lighting 

Kushaq is still powered by the 115 bhp producing 1.0-litre turbo-petrol combined with a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter, and a 150 bhp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine combined with a seven-speed DCT. The Slavia is also based on the Monte Carlo Edition, and the two have the same painting finishes and features. Slavia Anniversary Edition is also available in three powertrain options, like the Kushaq.

The black editions have been very popular more recently, with most brands introducing them without offering any major upgrades to feature lists or powertrain, but all-black interior and exterior.
