Tata Motors record better sales in October than Mahindra, Hyundai; retain 2nd place
Tata Motors managed to retain their spot behind Maruti Suzuki seeing a month-on-month growth of 81 per cent, with GST 2.0 aiding the overall sales of the passenger vehicle for the month of October.
New Delhi: According to Vahan’s current passenger vehicle retail data, Tata Motors have retained their second spot from the previous month with 74,705 units sold during October 2025. The company managed to retail 7,905 units more than Mahindra and 9660 units more than Hyundai.
Tata Motors have managed to keep their spot behind Maruti Suzuki. The brand had sold 41,151 units in September and in August sold 38,286 units, according to data from FADA. This means they have seen an 81 per cent month-on-month growth in October, which is quite a good feat to have to name.
The sales were, of course, likely helped by the festival season as well as the GST cuts that brought down the price of up to Rs 1.55 lakh on their passenger vehicles.
The Vahan sales data in October 2025 suggested that Tata Motors outperformed both Hyundai and Mahindra by a big margin. Mahindra and Hyundai, though, have seen a strong increase in sales during the same time frame.
Mahindra’s sales so a sharp rise from 37,659 units in September to 66,800 units in October, which is a 77 per cent rise. On the other hand, Hyundai sales saw a rise from 35,812 units to 65,045 units, which is an 81 per cent growth. Both Tata and Mahindra have given consistent good performance in the last few months, giving serious competition to the Korean manufacturer, Hyundai.
Overall, the month of October was expected to make a good rise owing to GST 2.0 and the festival season.
