TVS has launched the Orbiter electric scooter in India at ₹99,900 (ex-showroom). The scooter offers a 158 km range on a 3.1 kWh battery, and comes equipped with features such as cruise control, hill hold, reverse parking assist, and Bluetooth-enabled digital cluster. Bookings are now open in six colour options.
New Delhi: TVS has expanded its electric two-wheeler lineup with the launch of a brand-new scooter, the Orbiter, priced at ₹99,900 (ex-showroom). This marks the third EV in the company’s portfolio after the iQube and X, placing it directly in the growing mid-range electric scooter market.
The Orbiter, from its design and features, appears to target both young riders and family buyers. With curvy panels, a decently sized windscreen, and large LED lights, the scooter leans towards an urban-friendly character, while also packing in a surprising list of tech-oriented features.
Performance and battery
The TVS Orbiter comes with a 3.1 kWh battery pack, unlike the iQube which is offered in multiple variants. The company claims a riding range of 158 km on a single charge, positioning it among the higher-range options in its price bracket. Charging times and details about fast-charging capability haven’t yet been disclosed.
For many city users, a 150+ km range means a few days of commuting without recharging, which could make the Orbiter a practical daily option. Its main rival in this space is the Ather Rizta, which has a similar urban-oriented pitch.
Features that stand out
The Orbiter is equipped with several features that are usually found in higher-end EVs. Highlights include:
- Cruise control for steady highway runs
- Hill hold assist for tricky inclines
- Reverse parking assist for tight spots
- A detailed digital cluster with Bluetooth integration
- OTA updates and smartphone app support
- USB charging port for on-the-go convenience
These features suggest TVS is trying to position the Orbiter as a blend of utility and modern connectivity, not just a plain commuter scooter.
Colours and availability
Bookings for the scooter have already opened online, and deliveries are expected to follow soon. Buyers can choose from six colour options — Neon Sunburst, Stratos Blue, Lunar Grey, Stellar Silver, Cosmic Titanium, and Martian Copper.
With its sub-₹1 lakh pricing, the Orbiter will likely appeal to cost-conscious urban riders who want range and features in one package. For enthusiasts, the absence of multiple battery choices might feel restrictive, but the tech and styling could balance that out.
