New Delhi: Domestic two-wheeler sales in August 2025 saw mostly an upward movement, with TVS Motor Company, Royal Enfield, Suzuki Motorcycle and Hero MotoCorp reporting growth. Though that wasn’t the case for everyone, as Bajaj Auto and Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India fell behind, showing declines in sales.

Overall, the companies make up 90 per cent of the overall two-wheeler sales. Experts from the industry believe that with festivals approaching, favourable monsoons and GST turnaround might boost two-wheeler sales overall.

Royal Enfield have had a sharp growth in domestic sales with a 57 per cent rise from 65,623 units last year to 102,876 units, with strong demand for the likes of Classic and Hunter 350 models. B. Govindarajan, CEO of Royal Enfield, noted that they have a good "momentum” as they move towards the festive season.

TVS Motor saw a 28 per cent rise in domestic sales, with volumes going from 289,073 units to 368,862. With multiple products to their name, TVS saw a 30 per cent rise in motorcycle sales to 221,870 units, with scooters going up to 222,296 units, a 36 per cent growth. Hero MotoCorp also had a five per cent growth, going from 492,263 units last year to 519,139 units.  The company has good reasons to stay positive with the festive season and good monsoons having played their part for a strong agricultural demand and an overall lift in consumption with GST reforms approaching.

Suzuki motorcycles, too, had a five per cent increase, going from 87,480 units to 91,629 units.

Bajaj lies on the other side of the horizon with a 12 per cent decline from 208,621 units in August 2024 to this August, where it was 184,109 units. Even Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India reported a two per cent dip in domestic sales from 491,678 units last August to 481,021 units last month,
