Maruti Suzuki unveils Victoris, fits between Brezza and Grand Vitara

Maruti Suzuki have launched the Victoris after months of speculation and will be the first car from the brand to come with Level 2 ADAS and has already received 5 star Bharat NCAP.

New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki have unveiled their much-awaited SUV Victoris placed between the Brezza and Grand Vitara. The Maruti Suzuki Arena SUV will be based on Suzuki’s new Global C platform and is going to target the mass segment, and the auto OEMs are improving their position in the Indian market which is becoming utility vehicle-oriented. 

For the FY26, the brand is launching two SUVs in the Indian market, the e-Vitara electric SUV, the brand’s first EV and the Victoris. It will be the brand’s flagship product from the brand’s Arena retail network, and it has been loaded with features and will be shipped to 100 countries aside from India. It will come in CNG version as well, with an underbody CNG tank, which ensures that space isn’t wasted on the inside.

Maruti Suzuki is placing it for a young generation who are a major part in terms of being a customer base. The Victoris will be competing with the Kia Seltos, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, MG Astor, Honda Elevate and Hyundai Creta.

On the outside, the Victoris sports gets a newer design element, taking cues from the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara. The Victoris gets chunky LED headlights that are bridged with a slim grille cover with a chrome strip, thick plastic cladding and a silver skid plate as well. It comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, silver roof rails, blacked-out pillars and even squared-off body cladding. There is also an LED light bar and ‘Victoris’ lettering on the back.

It is far more tech-focused on the inside, with a large 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen sitting on the top of the dash, and a digital driver’s display. It will be seating five people on the inside. 

Victoris will get features like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an eight-speaker sound system with Dolby Atmos, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, leatherette upholstery, connected car tech, automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, heads-up display, wireless charger, eight-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, powered tailgate and cabin air filter as well.

In terms of safety, Victoris has already scored a 5-star safety rating in both adult and child occupant protection at the Bharat NCAP crash test. It has managed to take 31.66 from the total 32 points in adult occupant protection and 43 points from 49 in child occupant protection.

In a first for Maruti Suzuki, Victoris gets a Level 2 ADAS system. Safety features include six airbags as standard, ABS with EBD, traction control, brake assist, hill hold control, and ISOFIX child seat anchorages. It will also get a 360-degree camera and, tyre pressure monitoring system as well.

Inside the bonnet, the Victoris is the same as the Grand Vitara. Its powertrain includes a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder mild hybrid petrol engine that makes 103 bhp, a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder strong hybrid setup that produces 116 bhp and a 1.5-litre petrol-CNG that has an output of 89 bhp. 

In terms of gearbox, there’s a five-speed manual and a six-speed torque converter auto for the petrol engine, an e-CVT is mated with the strong hybrid and a five-speed manual is paired with the CNG variants. Victoris will also come with an option of all-wheel drive with the petrol-auto configuration.
