New Delhi: Hindustan Zinc Limited i.e. HZL has recorded tremendous profit in the July-September quarter of FY26. Silver has contributed significantly to the company's earnings. Anil Agarwal's Vedanta group has made a profit of more than Rs 1000 million from silver in just three months. This shows the company's strategic strength and growing focus in the premium metal segment.
HZL recorded a consolidated profit of Rs 2649 crore in the Q2 of FY26. This is 19 percent more than the previous quarter. Silver contributed about 40 percent of the company's total profit, which is about Rs 1060 million. The company has shown a strong grip in the precious metals business.
Hindustan Zinc recorded silver income of Rs 1706 million in the quarter. This is an increase of 10 percent quarter on quarter and 20 percent year on year. The rise in silver prices in the global market and the company's strong operational performance made this spectacular growth possible.
The stock of Hindustan Zinc Ltd fell 1.27 percent to settle at Rs 500 apiece on October 17, 2025. The company has a market cap of Rs 2,11,372 crore. The high and low price of its stock was Rs 575 and 378 respectively. The company's stock P/E ratio is 20.8. The dividend yield is 5.76 percent. ROCE is 60.7 percent and ROE is 72.4 percent. The face value of the company is Rs 2. In the last 5 years, the counter has given a return of 131 percent.
HZL is among the top five silver production companies in the world. The company refines the natural silver obtained with lead and zinc and sells it in the market. In recent years, the share of silver in its income has been increasing steadily, making it an important revenue source for the metal company.
Along with the core zinc business, Vedanta Group has also increased its focus on precious metals. This is the reason why the company has directly benefited from rising silver prices and strengthening production. This is a sign for investors that the company can continue to perform well in this segment in the coming years as well.
