New Delhi: In 2025 so far, silver recorded a historic growth, which no one expected. Prices have almost doubled and it has reached new heights by breaking many years of records. Interestingly, this speed of silver has been faster than gold, while gold itself is setting new records. Strong industrial demand, severe shortage of supply and increased interest from investors have made silver the hottest commodity of the year.
Industrial demand is very strong. The biggest demand for silver is coming from solar panels, electric vehicles and AI infrastructure. If we talk about the solar sector, the consumption of silver is increasing steadily there because silver is a great conductor of electricity. As the world moves towards green energy, the need for it is increasing.
Supply has reduced drastically. The shortage of silver has pushed its prices up. Inventory in large London vaults decreased by one-third between 2022 and 2025. In October, the situation was so bad that even the cost of borrowing silver for a day reached 200 percent in a year. There has been a shortage of supply for 5 consecutive years. StoneX expert Rhona O'Connell said that physical silver in London was almost on the verge of ending. In India too, there were huge purchases during the festivals. Prices have increased by 85 percent in many places. It also increased pressure on the international market.
According to TB, global financial firm UBS is very bullish on silver. They believe that the price of silver can reach $60 per ounce by 2026. In such a situation, the exact calculation of this is as follows-
Today, silver is being traded in India at around Rs 160 per gram. That is, if the target of $60 is met, then there is a possibility of a further increase of about 19 percent.
Analysts say that the rise is not over yet. The main reasons for this are as follows:
The price of silver reaching Rs 190 per gram seems entirely possible if industrial demand and supply constraints remain the same. Silver can give an even bigger surprise in the coming months for investors and the industry.
