Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced that the government has fixed a uniform fee of Rs 100 for all preliminary competitive exams. The government has also decided to charge no money for appearing in the mains exam.
On the occasion of Independence Day, CM Nitish Kumar has also announced that the government is putting its best foot forward to create employment opportunities for one crore youth in the state. He said this while addressing a gathering at Patna after unfurling the national flag at the Gandhi Maidan.
CM Nitish Kumar said that making a Rs 100 fee for the competitive prelims exam is a big push for job aspirants. There were many state government departments such as Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC), Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC), Bihar Technical Service Commission, Bihar Police Subordinate Service Commission, and the Central Constable Selection Board recruit candidates for various posts. Now, all the departments will be charging flat Rs 100 for competitive prelims exams and nil for mains exam.
"Instructions have been given to charge only 100 rupees as the fee for candidates appearing in the preliminary (PT) competitive examination. Furthermore, candidates who pass the preliminary (PT) examination and appear for the main examination (Mains) will no longer have to pay any examination fee. This step by the state government will benefit lakhs of youth, CM Nitish said in a post on X in Hindi.
"Ensuring that more and more youth in the state get government jobs and employment has been our priority from the beginning. This initiative of the state government will encourage and motivate the youth to achieve their goals," CM added.
While talking at the Independence Day event, CM Nitish Kumar also pledged to provide government jobs and other employment opportunities to one crore youth in the state "in the coming years".
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said, "Bihar is moving ahead with high growth rate and development. Earlier, we had promised to provide 10 lakh government jobs to our youth. But now we have fixed a new target of providing jobs and employment opportunities to one crore youth in the state."
"Over eight lakh youths were given government jobs initially. In 2020, under 'Seven Resolves-2', the target was raised to 12 lakh government jobs and 38 lakh employment opportunities. So far, 10 lakh youths have already been given government jobs, and 39 lakh people have been given employment. Over 50 lakh will be employed before the coming assembly polls. Over the next five years, one crore youths will be provided jobs and employment opportunities", PTI quoted CM Nitish.
CM Nitish also said the government will be opening seven new medical colleges in Kishanganj, Katihar, Rohtas, Sheohar, Lakhisarai, Sheikhpura, and Arwal.
