Frustrated over flight cancellation, foreigner climbs onto IndiGo counter at Mumbai airport | Video
IndiGo has attributed the ongoing crisis to pilot staffing crunch that it said was caused due to misjudgement and planning gaps in implementing the new pilot duty rules.
New Delhi: As IndiGo grappled with an operational crisis, a series of flight cancellations has left thousands of passengers stranded at the airports across the country for as long as five days.
The airports have been witnessing chaotic scenes for the past few days, with angry passengers staging protests and some venting their frustration at the airline staff. One such flyer, a foreigner, lost her temper at the IndiGo's ground staff as she climbed atop an airline counter at Mumbai airport after her flight was cancelled. The dramatic scene was caught on camera.
The woman claimed that she had no extra clothes to wear as she packed all her belongings in her luggage. She said that she had no food and expressed anguish over being stranded without basic amenities.
In a video, circulated widely on social media, the woman is seen yelling at IndiGo's ground staff before climbing onto the counter. The staff are seen requesting the angry woman to get down from the counter and trying to pacify her.
Similar scenes of frustration and helplessness played out at airports across the country.
